Kathleen Bottagaro loves writing (almost) as much as she loves her children. She believes that words have the power to inspire, educate, and bring joy to our youngest citizens. Kathleen writes picture books with heart.
She is a recovering lawyer who gave up the world of real estate contracts to dive into the world of early childhood and elementary education as a teacher. She embraced her inner Mister Rogers as Manager of Education Initiatives at Rocky Mountain PBS. Kathleen’s legal training taught her that every word counts, and she crafts books that reflect a love of language. Her teaching embodied the belief that every child deserves love, respect, laughter, and hope. As a lifelong learner, she enjoys sparking children’s curiosity in the world.
Kathleen has an M.A. in Educational Psychology with a concentration in Early Literacy. She also holds a J.D. (Law) and a B.S.B.A. in Finance/Real Estate.
Kathleen lives in Boulder, Colorado. Her daughters are young adults, but they still love to listen to their mother’s read-alouds.
